Check your Zuku internet speed

Works with any Zuku home internet or mobile data connection. Run the test and see how your real speed compares with your plan.

  • Download speed

The main number on your Zuku plan. It tells you how quickly pages, videos and files reach your device.

  • Upload speed

How fast you can send things out. It matters for video calls, sending large files and working from home.

  • Ping

The delay between your device and the internet, in milliseconds. Lower numbers feel faster and are better for calls and games.

  • Jitter

How much the delay changes. A steady connection has low jitter. A line that keeps changing causes choppy calls.

  • Ping under load

Ping while the line is in use. If it shoots up, other devices on your Zuku connection are slowing everything down.

  • Plain ratings

See at a glance whether your Zuku speed is good for streaming, gaming and video calls.

  • Your Zuku connection

Check your IP address and provider name to confirm you are testing over Zuku.

  • Any device

Test from your phone, tablet or computer. It is free and there is nothing to sign up for.

Zuku internet slow or dropping? Check these

Zuku problems usually come from the line, the router or the Wi-Fi in your home. Start with the quick checks and then match your problem below.

Quick checks

  • Look at the lights on your Zuku router. Note any that are red, off or blinking.
  • Check that the cables are tight and not bent or damaged.
  • Connect a laptop with an Ethernet cable if you can.
  • Restart the router: unplug it for two minutes, then plug it back in.
  • Pause downloads and streaming on other devices.
  • Run the test a few times and write down the results.

Speed is lower than my Zuku plan

Your line and your Wi-Fi both affect the result. A cable test shows what the line delivers without Wi-Fi in the way.

  1. Test with a cable and compare the number with your plan.
  2. If the cable result is good, the problem is your Wi-Fi. Move closer or move the router to a central spot.
  3. If the cable result is still low, note down a few results and contact Zuku support.

The fibre light is red or off

A red or missing fibre light usually means the signal from the street has been lost.

  1. Check that the cable to the wall box is seated and not sharply bent.
  2. Do not touch or clean the end of the fibre cable.
  3. Restart the router and the fibre box.
  4. If the light stays red, report a fault to Zuku support.

Speed was fine and then dropped suddenly

A sudden drop usually has a simple cause, such as a restart, a new device or an update.

  1. Restart the router and test again.
  2. Look at the devices connected to your Wi-Fi and disconnect any you do not recognise.
  3. If you find unknown devices, change your Wi-Fi password.

Wi-Fi is weak in other rooms

One router may not cover the whole home. The 2.4 GHz band reaches further but is slower and busier.

  1. Move the router to the middle of your home and off the floor.
  2. Test in each room and see where speed drops.
  3. Add a mesh system or a second access point for the far rooms.

Video calls and games lag

High ping or jitter, especially under load, causes lag even when the speed number looks fine.

  1. Run the test and look at ping, jitter and ping under load.
  2. Pause large uploads and cloud backups, then test again.
  3. Use a cable for calls and games where you can.
  4. Restart the router and turn on its traffic priority setting if it has one.

The test freezes or will not finish

The connection may have dropped, or something on your device is blocking the test.

  1. Open another website. If it does not load, restart the router.
  2. Turn off any VPN or ad blocker and try again.
  3. Try on mobile data to see whether the problem is your Zuku line.

FAQs

How do I check my Zuku internet speed?

Press Start test and wait about a minute. Close other apps first and use a cable if you can. Then compare the download and upload numbers with the speed on your Zuku plan.

Why is my Zuku speed lower than my plan?

The plan speed is the best case. Wi-Fi, the router, how many devices are online and the server you test against can all lower it. A cable test helps you find which one it is.

Does this test work on any Zuku connection?

Yes. The test measures whatever connection your device is using.

What should I do if my Zuku internet is not working at all?

Restart the router and check the lights and cables. If a light is red or off, or the internet is still down after a restart, contact Zuku support.

What is a good ping on Zuku?

Under 30 ms is very good, 30 to 80 ms is fine for most things, and above 100 ms is noticeable in calls and games.

Is this test made by Zuku?

No. This is an independent speed test and is not connected to Zuku. Zuku is a trademark of its owner. We only use the name to help you check Zuku connections.
