Check your Superloop internet speed

Works with Superloop Internet and any other Superloop connection. Run the test and see how your real speed compares with your plan.

  • Download speed

The main number on your Superloop plan. It tells you how quickly pages, videos and files reach your device.

  • Upload speed

How fast you can send things out. It matters for video calls, sending large files and working from home.

  • Ping

The delay between your device and the internet, in milliseconds. Lower numbers feel faster and are better for calls and games.

  • Jitter

How much the delay changes. A steady connection has low jitter. A line that keeps changing causes choppy calls.

  • Ping under load

Ping while the line is in use. If it shoots up, other devices on your Superloop connection are slowing everything down.

  • Plain ratings

See at a glance whether your Superloop speed is good for streaming, gaming and video calls.

  • Your Superloop connection

Check your IP address and provider name to confirm you are testing over Superloop.

  • Any device

Test from your phone, tablet or computer. It is free and there is nothing to sign up for.

Superloop internet slow or dropping? Check these

Superloop problems usually come from the line, the router or the Wi-Fi in your home. Start with the quick checks and then match your problem below.

Quick checks

  • Look at the lights on your Superloop router. Note any that are red, off or blinking.
  • Check that the cables are tight and not bent or damaged.
  • Connect a laptop with an Ethernet cable if you can.
  • Restart the router: unplug it for two minutes, then plug it back in.
  • Pause downloads and streaming on other devices.
  • Run the test a few times and write down the results.

Speed is lower than my Superloop plan

Your line and your Wi-Fi both affect the result. A cable test shows what the line delivers without Wi-Fi in the way.

  1. Test with a cable and compare the number with your plan.
  2. If the cable result is good, the problem is your Wi-Fi. Move closer or move the router to a central spot.
  3. If the cable result is still low, note down a few results and contact Superloop support.

My plan speed depends on the line at my address

Superloop serves homes with different connection types, such as fibre, copper or wireless, and each has a different top speed.

  1. Check which connection type your plan uses in your account or on your bill.
  2. Compare your result with the speed listed for that type, not just the headline number.
  3. If a faster type is available at your address, ask Superloop about upgrading.

The connection drops again and again

Repeated drops usually point to the line, the cable or the router.

  1. Check the router lights when it drops. A red or off light means the line signal is lost.
  2. Look for damage along the cable you can see, and for loose connectors.
  3. Restart the router and check whether it reconnects.
  4. If it keeps dropping, report a fault to Superloop support and mention which light was on.

Wi-Fi is weak in other rooms

One router may not cover the whole home. The 2.4 GHz band reaches further but is slower and busier.

  1. Move the router to the middle of your home and off the floor.
  2. Test in each room and see where speed drops.
  3. Add a mesh system or a second access point for the far rooms.

Video calls and games lag

High ping or jitter, especially under load, causes lag even when the speed number looks fine.

  1. Run the test and look at ping, jitter and ping under load.
  2. Pause large uploads and cloud backups, then test again.
  3. Use a cable for calls and games where you can.
  4. Restart the router and turn on its traffic priority setting if it has one.

The test freezes or will not finish

The connection may have dropped, or something on your device is blocking the test.

  1. Open another website. If it does not load, restart the router.
  2. Turn off any VPN or ad blocker and try again.
  3. Try on mobile data to see whether the problem is your Superloop line.

FAQs

How do I check my Superloop internet speed?

Press Start test and wait about a minute. Close other apps first and use a cable if you can. Then compare the download and upload numbers with the speed on your Superloop plan.

Why is my Superloop speed lower than my plan?

The plan speed is the best case. The connection type at your address, Wi-Fi and how busy the network is can all lower it. A cable test helps you find which one it is.

Does this test work with Superloop Internet?

Yes. The test measures whatever connection your device is using, so it works with Superloop Internet and any other Superloop connection.

What should I do if my Superloop internet is not working at all?

Restart the router and check the lights and cables. If a light is red or off, or the internet is still down after a restart, contact Superloop support.

What is a good ping on Superloop?

Under 30 ms is very good, 30 to 80 ms is fine for most things, and above 100 ms is noticeable in calls and games.

Is this test made by Superloop?

No. This is an independent speed test and is not connected to Superloop. Superloop is a trademark of its owner. We only use the name to help you check Superloop connections.
